Bye bye Constantine

Anyone who knows me knows that I am pretty addicted to American Idol. I couldn't believe that Constantine got the boot. Don't get me wrong, I never liked his over-the-top stares into the camera or the unfortunate eyeliner incident from last week. I just thought that he would make it to the top three at least. I have a feeling that he will do fine though given his theatre background and his band releasing a CD.

The People Have Spoken

I received a comment to publish the sonogram picture so I've posted it due to popular demand.

His 8 mm long hair was swirling around in the amniotic fluid

We took a picture of the picture with the digital camera. It didn't come out quite as clear as we would have liked, but I wanted everyone to see the hair. Now I'm wondering what color it is...

I had lunch with my friend Laura and her son Christopher today. She's twenty weeks pregnant. Have I mentioned that I have five friends who are pregnant? It's baby talk galore these days but I love it. I also love that I will have Laura and my friend Kristy to call for advice once the baby is born since they already have kids. I have also talked with my cousin Lorie numerous times about everything baby under the sun. She has two little boys. They have all given me an invaluable amount of advice.

Lorne wants everyone to know that he got a free day off work today to play in a golf tournament at a country club where his team got fifth place. He took the business unit director's place because he was too busy to take the day off. He won a briefcase and got a goody bag which contained a shirt, Nike golf balls, divot tool, and a cap that has a magnetic ball marker. He's been wearing the cap since he got home. He is too cute!

Six Weeks and Counting....

We had another prenatal appointment today and we got good news! His head is down! Lorne said he was just taking his time. I had a feeling that he had because I'm getting kicked at my ribs now. We were talking at lunch about how amazing it is that he has turned. How does he know what to do/where to go? My blood pressure and his heartrate were normal and we even got to have another sonogram! Dr. Watts said his head was down but that we could have a "quick peep" to be sure. Lorne said she probably okayed it because she could tell that I wanted to see him again. Plus she winked at us when she said we could have another one.

Can you believe that HE HAS HAIR?!!? The sonographer measured it and it's 8 mm long. We could see it floating in the amniotic fluid-a truly amazing sight! We could even see him sucking and his hands were up against his face and he was sticking one of his pinkies out. Lorne said, "Oh no, he's going to be a Teasipper!" :) It was too funny! We also saw his little feet and got a pretty good picture of his face. She didn't measure his size because she said Dr. Watts didn't request it. Oh well. Lorne said we should have had her check to make sure it's still a boy. :) What an exciting visit! I think they'll all be exciting from now on. I have another one in two weeks and then it's once a week after that. Time is really flying!

How to Leave a Comment

I've had a couple of people ask about how to leave comments so I thought I'd type up a few directions because I would love to hear from you! First, click on the "Comment" link at the end of whichever post on which you would like to comment. Type your comment in the blank space under "Leave Your Comment." Scroll down to "Choose an Identity" and click "Other" which will prompt you to type your name or "Anonymous" if you'd just like to leave your comment. Finally, select "Publish Your Comment." I hope this helps!

Low energy

I'm having a tough time getting used to not having as much energy. I only ran a few errands but now I'm worn out. I'm also finding myself thinking of my due date as the apocalypse. I'm stocking up on everything like there's no tomorrow. Today I bought diapers and wipes and some of the items I'll need to pack for the hospital. It is making all of this seem more and more real. I know I'll be able to leave the house, but it will be more of an ordeal. I keep thinking of that Honda commercial a few years ago when the parents load the entire nursery into the minivan for a trip. I can see myself doing that very same thing.

It may be my imagination, but I feel like people in stores are noticing my belly these days. Today at Curves a lady exclaimed, "You're getting big!" I'm trying to look at that as a plus! It has been tough for me to see myself gaining weight, but I know it's only temporary. My doctor said that I can return to Weight Watchers and Curves six weeks postpartum.

I have another prenatal appointment Monday and I'm looking forward to seeing if the baby has moved. He's been breech throughout my whole pregnancy. I've decided he's laid back like his daddy and just isn't getting in a hurry. :) It may be in my mind but things are feeling different these days so maybe he has started heading south. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Dr. Watts says not to worry until week 36 and I'm 33 weeks now.

Van Vleck Shower

I had a baby shower at Karen and Missy's house this weekend. It was so much fun! Everyone gave such wonderful gifts that it was overwhelming! I've never seen so many blue clothes! I'm posting some of my favorite pics. You can click on the pictures to see a larger version.

Welcome to our Aggiefamily!

Lorne made this website for me so that I can have a chance to share my feelings about being pregnant and my day to day ramblings. It's also a way for me to keep everyone in touch with our little boy once he is born since we live so far away from family. This is definitely a work in progress so you'll have to bear with me as I learn how to post pictures and all the other workings of this site. Please feel free to give me suggestions and comments. I think there's a way to do that on here.
