Chloe is Two Months Old!

Our Two Babies

I have had many people tell me that the second child has much fewer pictures than their older sibling and even fewer by themselves. I told myself that I wouldn't do that, but it seems that is exactly the case. I also wanted everything for Chloe that Sawyer has had and it just isn't always possible I have found. So far it has been pretty stupid stuff, but I'm sure it's going to continue to happen. For example, Sawyer has this personalized picture frame that I can't seem to find online anymore. I also bought a personalized footprint frame for him that isn't made anymore. I know it sounds trivial, but I really wanted all the same things for Chloe that Sawyer has. I think that as long as we shower her with love she won't even notice the lack of a picture frame or two.

Sawyer Takes a Dip!

This weekend Lorne blew up Sawyer's swimming pool that he got from Aunt Net for his first birthday. He has so much fun in the backyard, and it was even more fun with a swimming pool. The funny thing was that he just stood there most of the time. He mostly blew his bubbles and splashed around. We've started blowing bubbles in the tub so that he can practice for blowing out his two candles in a few weeks. Of course now he wants to blow bubbles all day long. He is the epitome of a one track mind.

Sawyer is Twenty-three Months Old!

Our little man is almost two years old. It is so hard to believe! This last month has been one of many adjustments for Sawyer. He is still trying to get used to his little sister being around twenty-four hours a day. I wonder if I should have tried harder to get him used to the idea of a sister before she was born. I did that somewhat, but I just wasn't sure how much he would be able to understand. I'm wondering if I should have given him more credit.

I'm trying to think of what new things he's doing now. He is beginning to string words together like "ready, set, go" and "go outside." He also likes to parrot us and repeat the last words that we say. He is also beginning to have more opinions about what he wants to eat. He loves to make roads and ramps and play with cars. He is also enjoying going to the park to play on the playground and swing.

Our Baby Girl

Chloe is growing more and more each day. She is also napping less and less each day. I'm not sure why, but she isn't sleeping during the day much anymore. I am trying to get her to nap in her crib since it is logistically pretty much impossible for her to get any rest otherwise while Sawyer is awake. She was napping about an hour at a time, but for the last few weeks she isn't sleeping more than forty-five minutes at a time when she sleeps at all. I'm hoping that it's just a phase but I guess that we'll just have to see. If she were our first child and I didn't know any better it would probably be okay, but we can remember Sawyer taking such good naps for us. On the bright side she is sleeping at least five hour stretches at night so I am really glad that she is doing that at least.

This picture turned out blurry, but it's one of her first smiles so I had to post it.
