Ten Things Mommy Loves About Chloe Kathryn

I have done this list for Sawyer for the past two years so I wanted to start Chloe's. Sawyer's third installment is down the page:

10. The way she sleeps with her arms over her head.

9. The way she kicks like crazy while she sits in her bouncer.

8. The way she is already trying to hold her bottle.

7. The way she falls asleep in my arms, so peaceful, innocent, and pure.

6. The way she looks at me with her big, beautiful, green (blue? brown?) eyes.

5. The way she looks and smells after her bath, all squeaky clean and smelling so baby wonderful.

4. The way her dimple pops out of her chubby cheek as she smiles her toothless grin.

3. The way she turns her head when she hears my voice.

2. The way she coos and babbles every chance she gets.

1. The way she has completed our family. What did we ever do without her?

Chloe is Three Months Old!

Chloe is growing more and more each day. She has begun to coo and make the sweetest noises. I only wish that we could understand what she is saying because she holds quite a conversation with herself. She is still sleeping at night like a champ. She went nine hours last night and it was wonderful because I needed it. Sawyer and I are both getting over strep throat. Lorne and Chloe are in good shape so far (knock on wood).

She has started napping on me in the afternoons. I haven't tried having her nap in the crib for the past month or so. I haven't been trying for a morning nap because she goes back to sleep after her morning feeding until almost 10:00 which is when I would be putting her down for her morning nap anyway. I know that a pattern will emerge sooner or later. I'm just trying not to rush things because she will be Sawyer's age before we know it.

I love that toothless grin!

Sawyer was determined that I take pictures of him too.

Ten More Things Mommy Loves About Sawyer Blake

10. The way he rubs his stuffed animal George's ears on his cheeks and wants to carry him everywhere.

9. The way he says "all right" when we ask him a question.

8. The way he squeezes my neck for the best hugs and gives open-mouthed kisses.

7. The way he requests a shake every time we pass any drive-thru.

6. The way he has created his own language: "LaLa" (Elmo), "RoRo" (Rosie), "WaWa" (The Wiggles), "mac/cheese," "Ila (I love you). There are too many to mention.

5. The way he wants to make everything a road or a ramp for his cars.

4. The way he begs to talk on the phone and then goes mute and only smiles once it's in his hands.

3. The way he gets stuck on one color/number/letter at a time. Right now it's green/purple, eight, and "A."

2. The way he wants to watch Caillou during his every waking hour.

1. The way he has taken hold of my heart.

Sawyer is Two Years Old!

How can it be that Sawyer is already two years old? Where has the time gone? I have had many people tell me that time flies, but I had no idea how quickly until I had children. He is growing and changing every day.

We had his well-check on Tuesday and he is still in the fiftieth percentile for weight and height. He stood on a regular adult scale this time instead of lying down on the infant scale. He also was measured for his height instead of his length. He stood against the wall like a big boy. He won't have another well-check for a year instead of a few months like it has been.

The biggest thing Sawyer is doing right now is getting out of his room. He did it for the first time on Monday morning and I thought that I was going to have a heart attack. I was running around downstairs getting ready to leave to have their pictures taken and it sounded like he was outside his room. I started climbing the stairs and he was at the top of the stairs waiting for me. I got cold all over at the thought of what could have happened if he fell down the stairs. I can't believe how quickly he learned how to remove the door knob cover that was on his side of the door. It was nice while it lasted though. I timed him Tuesday during his nap and it only took him three minutes to remove the doorknob cover, place it on his bed (no idea why he does that), open his door, and stand at the top of the stairs. This time wasn't as bad because I had closed the stair gate. This morning he let himself out at 6 AM so we're going to be putting a gate in his doorway from this point on so that he can't get free. Are we horrible parents or what? It never fails that Chloe is sleeping much later now so that means that it's time for Sawyer to start waking at the crack of dawn...ugggh!

I think that I am going to stop taking monthly bear pictures with Sawyer. I think that I will wait until he is three to take another one. He is slowly but surely tiring of the pictures I think. That will also give me more time to focus on Chloe's pictures.

Elmo was the theme for Sawyer's birthdy party so I had to get his outifit for him.

Sawyer saw the "M" on the bear's chest and started doing his monkey imitation.

Chloe's Bumbo

We started putting Chloe in her Bumbo chair this week. I am excited because it gives me another "station" during the week. She seems to enjoy sitting in it so that's good. She has already rolled onto her back a few times and is holding her head up really well. She had her two-month well-check on Tuesday while Sawyer was having his two-year chekup. She weighs 13.1 pounds and is 24 1/2 inches long. She is the ninetieth percentile for her height and the seventy-fifth for her weight. She is closer to three months than she is two, but that's becuase I wanted to be able to schedule their well-checks for the same time.
