I posted my original list of Ten Things on June 23, 2005. I'd like to post another list, one year later.

10. The way he shakes his head "no" when he knows he's doing something he's not supposed to do, even before we tell him.

9. The way he waves and says, "Bye-bye," moments after someone has left the room.

8. The way he smiles, big and bright enough to light even the darkest of days.

7. The way he feeds himself with his chubby hands, shoving in avocado and pear with reckless abandon.

6. The way he crawls to his gates, pulls to a stand, and shakes them with all his might.

5. The way he acts shy and hides his face in my shoulder when someone speaks to him.

4. The way he babbles on and on in a language only he can understand.

3. The way he lifts the flaps and turns the pages as we read a book.
