Chloe Can Hear!

Chloe had her follow-up appointment today. We got such a great report! Her hearing has increased five decibels which is the equivalent of 50%. Dr. Gottlieb explained that the increase may be even more substantial, but they're working with a twenty month old, and the test may be skewed. It was much more exciting to sit in on the test this time since she was actually responding to the sounds on her right side.

I cannot get over how many more words she has been saying for the past month. She is even speaking in sentences from time to time! Good grief! It kills me to think that she hasn't been able to hear for who knows how long.

She even asked me, "Why, Mommy?" yesterday. I'm thinking that she listens to her brother too closely because I know that she couldn't have possibly thought of that all by herself. She's only twenty months old, after all!

We were kind of worried that she would begin to sleep less soundly since she can hear, but we haven't noticed a difference, thank goodness! The main difference is definitely her speech. We go back in six more months for another check-up and hearing test.
