Walnut, Take Two

I had another OB appointment yesterday. Lorne stayed home with Sawyer this time. I had another sonogram and everything looks pretty good. I also didn't gain any weight, yeah me! The baby is 3 cm long and my book says it's the size of a walnut at ten weeks. She said that we're sticking with March 17th as the due date. She did discover that I have a 4 cm fibroid. Apparently the extra hormones that come about with pregnancy probably contributed to its growth. She also said that she had one with her last child and everything was fine. Her doctor even did a sonogram at her six week follow-up and couldn't find it anymore. She will monitor it with sonogram throughout my pregnancy. I'm looking on the bright side; I will get to see this baby in-vitro even more than Sawyer. She said that chances are it will just stretch out and not be a problem. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I'm really starting to freak out. I made the mistake of getting on a fibroid message board yesterday. I had no idea the problems these little boogers can cause when it comes to conception and sometimes pregnancy. I love the words sometimes and almost. They sometimes cause problems and they are almost always benign tumors. I'm just keeping everything crossed that all will be fine and that my pregnancy will continue without incident. I was really hoping and praying for another textbook pregnancy, minus the Pitocin-induced craziness at the delivery, of course!

Here are some pictures from the sonogram. We've ordered a scanner so my twenty-week sono pics should be much clearer.

Here's our little walnut!

You can almost see the arm sticking out. It looks like it's sticking out its' tongue.

Here's a close-up of the head.

Sawyer, our Walnut 1.0, is getting bigger and bigger all the time. He tried Mac 'n cheese for the first time last week and LOVED it! I was hesitating in giving it to him because it's so fattening, but toddlers need fat, so away we went. The problem is keeping Mommy out of it! Man, that stuff is evil!

He's walking more and more. He has also learned how to stand himself up from a sitting position so that's fun to watch. He is getting braver and braver everyday.

He is playing with his Learning Puppy whom Lorne has affectionately named Leonard, for reasons unknown. Anyway, Sawyer has learned to press the various body parts so that they sing to him, clap at him, and ask him for a hug. He responds by laying his head on Leonard. He has started doing it to us too and it is the most precious thing in the world! He also gives us "kisses" by leaning his forehead toward us so that we can kiss it.

He's giving Leonard a "hug," Sawyer-style.

Can he get any more precious?
