My Christmas Wish
I finally updated my website. I hope that everyone enjoys reading about the last six weeks or so. I won't be updating until after Christmas because I have lots to do, as does everyone else, I'm sure. My goal in all the madness that is the "holiday season" is to stay balanced and focus on what is really important about this month of the year: my children.
I'll close with this poem entitled, "A Mom's Night Before Christmas." Lorie shared it with me and it definitely brought a tear to my eye. I am constantly reminded of how fleeting this time is and how precious my children are. I just want to remember how well I truly have it and how incredibly lucky and blessed I am and not take it all for granted.
My Christmas wish for all moms, and all parents really, is to find peace with where they are in their lives and take the time to reflect upon the impact they make upon their loved ones. We have been given a huge responsibility and the future is in our hands.
The state of the economy and the world in general are helping me realize that it's not about number of rooms in a house; it's about making room for quality family time. It's not about the balance of the bank account; it's about balancing the time so that God and family come first. It's not about finding that perfect gift with the best coupon; it's about our friends and family knowing that we love them. That is more precious than any Doorbuster.
Have a Merry Christmas. Take time to find your balance. I know I will.
